Dev Hynes’ latest solo project Blood Orange first appeared onto the net with “Dinner“, with what was to me one of the most comical videos I had seen all year (Dev can’t dribble a ball + hipsters standing around the court + kitties = amazing) and instantly caught my attention. Slowly following his singles and remixes being released, we were led to Coastal Grooves, his flawless debut album.
Early 90′s inspired, Chris Izaak and Billy Idol influenced, Coastal Grooves is the music of a seedy yet inspirational New York night time. Give it a spin, and then another and another.
Blood Orange’s Coastal Grooves is out now on Domino Records
