Cobraconda: The Carter XXVVII mixtape stream + Back In Black music video
The duo of Cobraconda, Spencer Foreman and Graham Nation, have released their mixtape ‘The Carter XXVII‘ for free download on their website this week, which is also available to stream right above. This was a mixtape we were excited about after the duo made a hilariously raunchy music video for their song BBHM$ (Bitch Better Have My Money) back in September. ‘The Carter XXVII‘ finds the boys sampling AC/DC, Waka Flocka, Rusko, and of course, Lil’ Wayne while further developing their brand of sharp and witty rap stylings reminiscent of The Beastie Boys via ‘Ill Communication‘.
If Cobraconda reminds you of another pair of white boy rappers from Colorado that’s because CC’s Spencer Foreman is the brother of Sean Foreman who makes up half of the pop duo 3OH!3 who have seen success collaborating with the likes of Katy Perry and Kesha. The comparison’s should end there though as Cobraconda brings a much grittier concoction to the party. If other acts in their genre are toasting drinks in the living room, CobraConda is snorting blow in the bathroom with your little sister.
‘The Carter XXVII‘ is a more than decent mixtape that allows the duo to flex their lyrical chops while making a strong argument for why these guys are serious contenders. We’ll be keeping an eye on Cobraconda while hoping an all original music release from them in the future will prove to be just as fun as this mixtape is. From their track “Errday” I find myself singing along to “The sun is shining everyday in the Mile High City“, and you know, today I have to believe them.
