James Vincent McMorrow: NPR Tiny Desk Concert + Higher Love cover
Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow has a lovely singing style, reminiscent of Bon Iver. You can’t help but to long for more, after listening to one of his songs.
A week ago he stopped by the offices of NPR for what they like to call ‘Tiny Desk Conert‘ series, and played a 4-song set which consisted of solo versions of three cuts from his record: “This Old Dark Machine,” “Sparrow and the Wolf” and “Follow You Down to the Red Oak Tree,” as well as a new, unreleased song called “Red Dust.”
In addition to the 4-song set, I highly recommend giving James Vincent McMorrow’s beautiful cover of Steve Winwood’s, “Higher Love”, a proper listen. You can listen to it below, while checking his tour dates further down.
Pick up James Vincent McMorrow’s Early in the Morning on iTunes.
