I always find it interesting to learn about an artists on a more personal level, rather than the way they are perceived based on their work or hype, so when Pitchfork.tv released their documentary on Detroit Rapper (and style/spiritual icon) Danny Brown, I became very intrigued.

Filmed in February, Pitchfork’s crew followed Danny Brown at home with his family, performing at Dilla Day, and getting a haircut, but watching this piece is way more interesting than reading about it, so check out the video. Also, listen to his Fool’s Gold released album XXX, as it was named as Spin’s 2011 Best Rap Album of the year.
