Washed Out – Paracosm (trailer)

Earlier today Ernest Greene announced his return to the scene with a short trailer for Washed Out’s forthcoming album Paracosm, due out August 13 on SubPop.

After hearing this sample, I’m already way too excited and cannot wait until the album comes out. The 1:50 minute long trailer already has better tunes than Within and Without, which in my opinion failed to live up to the hype built by “Feel It All Around” off the EP, Life Of Leisure. Sounds promising!

Directed by Yoonha Park (who did M83′s “Kim & Jessie“), Washed Out’s “A Dedication” off Within and Without gets its official visual interpretation. I love how this video makes me feel. In fact, most Washed Out videos are pretty give off this nostalgic feeling, which is hard to describe but easy to enjoy. I’ve listened to this song a million times before, but following it along with the video has a completely different vibe. Enjoy.

Baths – Animals

There is a playful sound in each of the songs off of Cerulean from the artist Will Wiesenfeld aka ‘Baths’. There is a good reason for that as well as Will is in his early 20s and in listening to the other tracks on Cerulean he has been able to harness and amplify both a youthful and playful sound and feel throughout as well as allowing all of the songs to be vibrantly layered and complex.

It had been a while since I last heard anything new from Teen Daze, but today the Vancouver native has announced he’ll be releasing his debut LP this year, and gifted us with “Brooklyn Sunburn,” the first single off his forthcoming album titled All Of Us Together.

Chad Valley – Reach Lines

Last year Chad Valley released his second EP, Equatorial Ultravox. Today he released the official video for the lush track “Reach Lines”, off the EP. The video created by Jonathan using rotoscoping and shows off some beautiful, strange colors, and produces a brilliant visual. It does Not look easy to make but the end result is just so smooth.

Blackbird Blackbird is back with a new tune title “New Leaf”. The song isn’t the usual hazy, “chillwave” sound we’re used to hearing from Mikey but it sounds pretty interesting, especially the way the tone changes a quarter of the way into the song and then again towards the end. Check it out.
